The rising cases of COVID-19 in Udaipur over the last 15 days has led the state government to depute the state Principal Secretary Ajitabh Sharma to Udaipur.
His role will be to work with the Divisional Commissioner Rajendra Bhatt, District Collector Chetan Deora and officers of the Udaipur health department and administration in reviewing the COVID-19 spread, assess the correction mechanism and address dissipation of public awareness.
Hospital beds and Oxygen supply
Ajitabh Sharma, in his review meeting with the Collector, Divisional Commissioner and members of the administration and health department assessed the COVID management protocols in detail. He took a block-wise feedback on health infrastructure, home isolation, COVID protocol, Jan Anushaasan Pakhwada, strict control through prohibitory orders, micro containment zone, etc.
He stressed upon the otimisation of available resources and providing relief to the public. He also stressed on prioritizing availability of hospital beds, ventilators and Oxygen supply across the district to ensure that residents are not deprived of medical help due to any presumed lack of infrastructure.
The Principal Secretary also visited the ESIC Hospital to assess the infrastructure and guide the ground force to ascertain precaution and ensure that the patients are looked after with full care and without deprivation.
Strict controls to ensure breaking the infection chain
Ajitabh instructed the police and district administration to ensure that strict measures are taken against those who are violating the partial lockdown orders or those who are not observing the COVID safety protocol. Continuous public awareness, advising not to venture out unless required, observing social distancing when in public are some of the aspects that need to be addressed. He said that the public has to take it upon themselves to break this chain.
