Udaipur Ayurveda University to receive Rs. 1.5 Cr for Research Work
Ayurveda laboratories in Ajmer and Udaipur will get separate funds for improving their facilities. While Ajmer will get Rs. 70 Lac for repair works and procuring equipment, Udaipur ayurveda university will get Rs. 1.5 Cr for research work.
The health department has allocated funds for the development of 74 ayurveda hospitals across the state. Each ayurveda hospital will receive Rs. 15 Lac for its development.
Besides this, Ayurveda laboratories in Ajmer and Udaipur will get separate funds for improving their facilities. While Ajmer will get Rs. 70 Lac for repair works and procuring equipment, Udaipur ayurveda university will get Rs. 1.5 Cr for research work.
Health minister Rajendra Rathore has directed the officials to give ayurveda the much-needed boost by improving facilities in ayurveda hospitals and laboratories. The government has prepared proposals worth Rs.100 crore for the financial year 2016-17 for AYUSH, which also includes ayurveda. The health department has also directed the officials to increase the funds three times for medicines in AYUSH (ayurveda, yoga, unani, siddha and homoeopathy). Under AYUSH, six wellness centres will also be developed. The decisions in this regard were taken at a meeting convened recently by health minister Rajendra Rathore.
According to health department officials, Rajasthan is one of the leading states in ayurveda as it has ayurveda hospitals in large numbers across the state. The government has also decided to recruit healthcare staff for the purpose.
