Curfew was imposed in the 3km radius peripheri of the residence (Ambamata Thana area) of the COVID infected 15 year old boy yesterday evening, after reports to the effect were confirmed.  Udaipur SP Kailash Chandra Bishnoi has requested people to respect the decision of the administration and adhere to the rules and regulations setup around the lockdown.  This will be essential to prepare law and order and at the same time to ensure everyones safety.

Collector Anandi, in her message to Udaipur said that 18 people from the family of the primary infected were tested. 3 were found positive today.  One of the positive patients is a nurse in the swine flue ward and all those in direct contact with her have also been tested. 40 samples were tested and none were found to be positive, which is a relief.

She added that samples of those patients who have been in contact with the nurse through the Swine Flu ward, are also being collected. The reports will be out in due course.

On the imposition of curfew in the Ambamata area and nearby areas, Anandi said that the administration is taking steps to distribute essential items to the families. Milk and vegetables will be distributed on a regular basis whereas groceries will be distributed every alternate day. All items will reach the area before 9AM every morning.

SP Bishnoi also appealed to the religious heads in the city across all sects to contain the negative news and rumours spreading through social media and fake news and at the same time, educate people on safety measures as well as to stay indoors.  He informed that 16 cases of spreading rumors regarding COVID have been registered and 99 people have been arrested.

Collector Anandi has assured the people of Udaipur that there is nothing to worry about and the situation is all under control.  All those tested positive belong to the same house and are staying on the same floor.  Those from the family, but staying on other floors have been tested negative.
