Udaipur jail staff showed their dissatisfaction by boycotting mess. They tied black bands on their arms to specify the boycott.

Udaipur jail staff dissatisfied by the salary structures tied black bands to show their dissatisfaction and boycotted the mess. Later they approached Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria and informed him of their grievances.

Jail staff is extremely unhappy with the inconsistent salary structure provided to them. They displayed their dissatisfaction by boycotting the mess. The mess food was given away to the animals and the staff settled down for a hunger strike. Omprakash Verma, Mankesh Meena, Hansraj, Sunil Chowdhary and others reached BJP office and served a memo to Home Minister Kataria. It was stated that police and jail staff were on the same salary scale until 1998. Thereafter, the salary structure was made inconsistent and the problem still stands the same, no steps have been taken to modify the salary structures despite regular requests. RCA battalion is drawing more salary than the jail staff which needs to be checked.
