Udaipur Kota has high Passenger Car Unit count – World Bank

The Udaipur – Kota route is among the 75 bus routes in India identitifed by World Bank for passenger mobility enhancement as per a note issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on 21 Dec.

As per the official statement, the ministry has instituted a study under WBTA-27 (Word Bank Technical Assistance) for enhancement of passenger mobility. The other routes identified include Delhi-Agra-Lucknow, Lucknow-Gorakhpur and Delhi-Shimla in the north and Hyderabad-Bengaluru and Bengaluru-Mangalore in the south.

These 75 routes have high Passenger Car Unit (Unit) whereas the passenger share of buses is low, the statement said. A high PCU indicates a greater share of private vehicles as compared to buses on this route. An all India traffic survey data and tool plaza data covering major corridors in the country were analyzed resulting in the identification of these routes.
