Udaipur Mayor Govind Singh Tank has issued directives to reconstruct the nallah from Surajpole to Udiapole. The nallah is 1150 feet long and 5 feet wide. The Mayor visited the nallah on Wednesday and a close observation revealed that extremely low quality has been used in construction. He got annoyed with this and issued strict orders that the entire nallah be demolished and reconstructed with good quality material. It may be noted that the RCC work was completed on Tuesday after which the Mayor went for the inspection along with the construction committee Chairman Tarachand Jain, Municipal Corporation officers and other team members.

The Mayor during inspection had a part of the RCC work broken and upon checking it was discovered that the RCC did not have the appropriate mixture of cement and concrete. The entire construction work appeared to be of a very low quality. The nallah work has attracted a budget of 1.1 crores.

Vibrator was not used during construction, the centre was not apt, cement blocks were not used between the centering material and the iron rods. All this unveiled the fact that the connstruction was not of a good quality.

The Mayor also said that notices must be issued to the contractor, SE Pujari, XEN, JEN, AEN and also to the Committee Chairman. He also stated that if the mateiral used in the restructuring of the nallah is not found to be appropriate, then strict action will be taken against the contractor as he is responsible for the construction.
