Udaipur Municipal Corporation has taken the complaints of additional charges being recovered from citizens on a war front. A helpine number 9929303424 has been setup to tackle this matter.
As per information, Udaipur Municipality office had been receiving complaints of the additional staff asking for money from those who had obtained sewerage tank cleaning services. These charges being asked were illegal and not in line with the charges chart that has been defined by the UMC.
In order to put a stop to this illegal recovery of charges, the UMC has set up helpline number 9929303424. This number can be contacted for making any enquiry or for registering a grievance or complaint. Paras Singhvi, Deputy Mayor of Udaipur, has appealed to the residents of Udaipur that in case staff accompanying the sewerage cleaning vehicle asks for extar money, they may immediately call this helpline number. Action against the erring employee will be taken by the health department section of UMC.
For quite some time, regular complaints were being received by the UMC that staff accompanying the sewerage tank cleaning vehicles were asking for additional money, even after the charges were paid to the municipality for this service. On setting up an enquiry, these claims were found to be true. This prompted the Dy Mayor, in joint consultation with the health section of the UMC led by president Veniram Salvi, to look into the matter and set up a helpline number, which can be useful for other matters as well.
