The much awaited Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) at Udaipur was finally inaugurated today by V.K.Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs.

The much awaited Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) at Udaipur was finally inaugurated today by V.K.Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs. Also present on the occasion were Arjun Lal Meena, MP from Udaipur constituency, Chittorgarh MP, C.P. Joshi, Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, UMC Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, UIT Chairman Ravindra Shrimali, Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar from Maharana Mewar Charitable Trust, D.M.Mulay, Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs and Regional Passport Officer Vivek Jeph.

V.K. Singh said that even though the name of passport office is Laghu Passport Kendra, it will have the same facilities as of a normal passport seva kendra. Citizens will be able to have their passports made here. He also mentioned that soon they will start post office passport seva kendras in each district so that people do not have to go outside their districts for making passports.

Singh also said that they have simplified the process for making passports and people can now pay fees and book appointments from their mobiles, laptops and through e-mitra kendras.

Speaking about the region, Singh said that if anything is taken away from the people of Mewar, the populace their brings it back. This is exactly what had happened with the passport seva kendra. There was a PSK in Udaipur but it was taken away and the people here have brought it back.

The first appointment was given to senior citizen Dr. R.K. Agarwal
