Udaipur gets lots of tourists every year and the illegal guides become active with the expectation of commission amounts. They try to pull in tourists in various handicraft and antique shops hoping to get a good commission from the shop owners. Tourists are mislead by these illegal guides and taken to those particular shops which offer handsome commissions to these guides. Complaints were filed with various police stations that these fake guides were troubling both international and domestic tourists and forcing them to buy stuff from the shops recommended by them.
SP Kunwar Rashtradeep issued directives after receiving complaints against these unlicensed guides. Police teams were formed lead by ASP Paras Jain and Swati Sharma. The surveillance teams arrested 10 persons working as guides who did not have approved guiding licenses.
