Udaipur Police set to have Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

With an objective of aiding law and order operation in the city, Udaipur police will soon have support of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The UAVs were were recently purchased by Rajasthan police and reached Jaipur Police commissionerate on Monday.

With an objective of aiding law and order operation in the city, Udaipur police will soon have support of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The UAVs were were recently purchased by Rajasthan police and reached Jaipur Police commissionerate on Monday.

Rajasthan Police procured the UAVs for this its 9 police zones at Udaipur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Jaipur commissionerate and Jodhpur commissionerate. The UAVs are expected to assist in maintaining law and order situations during large gatherings, rallies and protests.

N R K Reddy,Additional DG, law and order, said that the advanced UAVs can fly upto about 400mtrs high and hence be able to cover significant areas. The UAVs will also have power to record videos and capture images.

UAVs have also been procured for specials units like Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF).

Rajasthan Police has also conducted training for a set of constables for flying these UAVs.
