Udaipur Smart City projects starting in June
Udaipur Smart City project is likely to prove a great facelift for the city in the coming 2 years.
3 big work orders for Smart City Udaipur project will be placed in the next three months. Under the smart city project, Wall city will have 24 hour water supply, electricity, sewerage line, all-in-one-cable and also more buses for public transport in city areas. This work order is likely to give Udaipur city the top most position in the category of smart cities. In the next 15 days, work orders for projects worth 480 crores for 18 wards will be finalised. Work will begin once the tender process is final.
L&T Company will take care of 24 hour water supply, electricity, sewerage lines and all-in-one-cable ducts. Work order will be issued in 15 days for this purpose. For the next 10 years, L&T will be responsible for repair and maintenance, too. Budget negotiations are still on for this work order.
45 new buses- 53 buses will run on 16 routes out of which 45 buses are yet to be added. A work order for tender of 32 crore rupees will be issued in the next 10 days. Earlier this tender was kept at 20 crore rupees but seeing the necessity it was raised to 32 crore rupees.
An adventure zone is also on the agenda to be created at Manikya Lal Verma Park. This will add to fun and thrill for local public. Company making fish aquarium and rope-way in Udaipur has shown interest in this project. Financial bid for this project is open and will be finalised in 10 days.
As per Siddharth Sihag, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, planning for the smart city project is in its final shape. By June all work orders will be passed and in the following 2 years entire project will be completed. This will give the appropriate smart city look to Udaipur.
A solid waste plant in Balicha worth 17 crores will be completed in next 2 months. A dumping yard in Titardi and heritage look of wall city is also on the agenda and will start in the one or 2 months.
