All the projects planned under the smart city plans of Udaipur and Jaipur will take off from next month. Similarly 50% of projects in Ajmer and Kota would also get into implementation stage next month.

The above information was given by Union Urban Development minister Venkaiah Naidu in a press conference in Jaipur. He held the press conference along with Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje. Naidu held the press conference after holding a review of progress and implementation of new urban missions in Rajasthan.

Rs 7000 Crores has been approved under the smart city mission for Jaipur, Udaipur, Ajmer and Kota. While Udaipur and Jaipur were amongst the first list of 20 smart cities, Ajmer and Kota made it in the next list.

Naidu said that Rajasthan was the first major state to have smart city plans approved for all its four mission cities after just two rounds of competition.
