Udaipur, Nov 8, 2025 – Chief Minister of Rajasthan Bhajan Lal Sharma has assured that the process for establishing a High Court Bench in Udaipur will begin soon, bringing to fruition the 44-year-long struggle of the Mewar–Vagad region.

Under the joint aegis of the Bar Association Udaipur and the Mewar–Vagad High Court Bench Struggle Committee, lawyers once again abstained from judicial work today, as they do on the seventh of every month, to demonstrate and continue their movement.

During today’s sit-in protest, several advocates from the Bar Association gathered and expressed their views, reaffirming their full support — emotionally, physically, and financially — for the ongoing movement and their commitment to ensuring its success.

Mahaveer Prasad Sharma, General Secretary of the Bar Association Udaipur, informed that under the chairmanship of president Chandrabhan Singh Shaktawat, a delegation from the Bar Association met the Chief Minister during his visit to Udaipur. The delegation requested the establishment of a High Court Bench in Udaipur.

Responding to the appeal, the Chief Minister assured that the process will begin soon, thus marking an end to the long-standing demand.

The delegation, including Shambhu Singh Rathore, Roshan Lal Jain, Girja Shankar Mehta, Arun Kumar Vyas, Mohammad Sharif Chhipa, Chandrabhan Singh Shaktawat and Mahaveer Prasad Sharma, met the CM Sharma at a hotel near Dabok Airport. The team held detailed discussions and submitted a memorandum on the matter.
