Post the pink city of Jaipur and the golden city of Jaisalmer, Udaipur is striving to take the title of white city. After having both sides of road (incl houses and shutters of all shops) around the Ghantaghar area painted while, municipal corporation has approved similar plan around Surajpole.

This proposal was passed at the Municipal Corporation meeting by the planning and beautification committee. The meeting was chaired by Tejender Singh Robin.

Robin informed that as part of beautification drive under the smart city campaign, they have passed the proposal to colour both sides of the road from Surajpole to RCA in off-white colour. This is being done to give city a recognition as white city.

The committee also decided to send a proposal to Smart City Company for including Delhi gate crossroad, Shastri Circle crossroad, Sikh colony crossroad and Surajpole cross road under the Smart City project.
