On a day when Udaipur’s Passport Seva Kendra opened, the dignitaries present also gave indications about starting of direct flight from Udaipur to Sharjah in six months.

Chittorgah MP, C.P. Joshi said that Udaipur will have a direct flight to Sharjah in six months time frame. He also said that a long pending demand of direct train from Udaipur to Haridwar will also be met in July.

Speaking at the opening of Passport Seva Kendra in Udaipur, V.K.Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs said that post starting of the international flights from Udaipur, visa services will also be initiated. Visa services on the airport will facilitate easy entry for the travellers to Udaipur.

Readers may remember that Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha had given similar indications three months back when he had come to Udaipur for inauguration of Digidhan mela.

With a significant number of Udaipurites in Middle-east, this would be a huge welcome. There is a also a large business community that travels internationally for business and has long been raising demand for international flights to operate from Udaipur Airport.

Currently international passengers from Udaipur travel either to Ahmedabad, Mumbai or New Delhi for their connecting flights.
