The reconstructed bridge near UIT office is set to be opened to traffic from 15-May. Engineers and Construction company associated with the project claim to be completing the task 1.5 months in advance.

95% of the bridge construction has been completed. The beautification piece on Gumaniya canal is currently ongoing and work is set to be completed by June.

UIT Chairman Ravindra Shrimali informed that RCC pillars along with Girders have been installed and the bridge will now be able to support four times the amount of water flow than the earlier bridge. Final touches are being given to connecting both ends of the bridge with road. Road construction on the bridge has started at the Nazar Bagh end.

Work is also ongoing for separation of clean water and drainage water in the canal. The drainage water will flow along the side in covered area whereas clean water will flow through the centre of the canal.
