UIT passes Rs 289 crore budget | Key Highlights

On Saturday UIT passed a 289 crore budget for FY 2017-18 as compared to 259 crores 31 lakhs of last financial year. Road network, drainage plan, housing plan, parking and conservation of forests and lakes are the main focus of this year’s budget. Along with this, some new projects will also be given the final touch.

On Saturday UIT passed a 289 crore budget for FY 2017-18 as compared to 259 crores 31 lakhs of last financial year. Road network, drainage plan, housing plan, parking and conservation of forests and lakes are the main focus of this year’s budget. Along with this, some new projects will also be given the final touch.

After the budget session, Chairman Ravindra Shrimali said that all possible steps will be taken to complete the tasks taken up for the development of the city. Home minister Gulabchand Kataria was present for this budget session when Secretary Ramniwas Mehta presented details of income and expenditure for the budget. The session was also attended by Collector Rohit Gupta, SE for Waterworks Trustee Anand Prakash Meena, Electricity department XEN Purushottam Paliwal and Senior Accounts Officer Dalpat Singh Rathore.

Highlights of this budget

Construction of more than a thousand houses

  • 484 flats worth 16 crores 25 lakhs will be constructed for the backward classes in Satodi Magri of Bedwas.
  • 576 flats worth 18 crores 67 lakhs will be constructed for the economically weaker classes in Pannadhai Nagar.
  • 25 crores will be spent on Revenue village Bedwas, Umarda and Debari under the Jan Awas Yojna.

Tourism

  • The areas of Nandeshwar ji, Thoor ki pal and Badi lake will be developed as tourist spots which have been lying unattended since long.
  • 38 crores will be spent on the development of the area near Fatehsagar lake. Conservation of the nearby hilly areas is also part of the plan.
  • Beti Gaurav parks will be developed in areas of Hilma plains, Rebariyon ki dhaani and Badbadeshawar Mahadev.

Watersupply/hygiene  

  • 50 crores will be spent for drinking water under the mega infrastructure project.
  • 80 crores for water in converted colonies and 3.50 crores for drinking water under the Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojna.
  • Regular cleanliness work will be carried out in all colonies under UIT. Tenders will be issued by dividing the area into 4 sectors.
  • LED lights will be installed on all roads. The work is expected to complete in the next 9 months.

Strong Road network

  • The 11.5 kilometre bypass from Valicha to Pratapnagar will be widened to the extent of 5 feet each on both sides for which 15 crore 50 lakh rupees will be spent.
  • 29 crores for 60 feet road from bus stand Udiapole to Kumharon ka Bhatta.
  • 4 crores on a new 80 feet road from Pula choraha to Ashoka Palace 100 feet road.
  • 60 crores to be spent on 100 feet road from Bhuwana bypass to Bedla.
  • 80 crores on widening 100 feet road from Mewar Hospital Buwana to NH76.
  • 45 crores on roads in the regions outside UIT plan for better connectivity.

Roads to be widened

  • 45 crores to be spent on widening roads in villages in periphery.
  • 82 crores for drainage system.
  • 99 lakhs for the approach road on the under construction bridge connecting Dabok-Bichdi.

Construction on the Hills to be stopped

Secretary Ramniwas Mehta has proposed to form rules for constructions on the hills as part of hill conservation. Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria said that such an issue is extremely important from the city’s point view, hence it will not be decided in a hurried manner and needs to thought of with proper concern. After the session, Chairman Shrimali showed his concern over the felling of trees and said that this needs to be stopped.

  • Construction work of UIT bridge to be completed before 30th April
  • Madri underpass to be started before 31st May
  • One more railway underpass by July in Sikh colony
