A priest approached district collector after the land he was using for worship was seized by UIT officials on 26^th Dec. However, the priest himself stated that the land was owned by UIT but he was based there for several years.

District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar told UT that it is an offense of encroachment which will not be tolerated. The UIT officials seized the belongings of the priest and took control over the encroached land, located near Savina Police Station.

The priest has given justification of his own perspective. The administration is getting strict over any type of encroachment in the city, and whatever the case.
