UIT suffers mismanagement, spends Rs. 97 Cr out of Rs. 226 Cr budget
UIT is under scrutiny for not being able to spend the stipulated budget amount in the development work in Udaipur city. As compared to the estimated budget of Rs. 226 Cr in 2014-15, UIT spent only Rs. 97 Cr in the entire year.
UIT is under scrutiny for not being able to spend the stipulated budget amount in the development work in Udaipur city. As compared to the estimated budget of Rs. 226 Cr in 2014-15, UIT spent only Rs. 97 Cr in the entire year.
The development related to parks, main circles, water distribution system in newly developed colonies and other important work could not be finished. Last year, UIT issued Rs. 226.15 Cr for the development work which was not even closely utilized as required.
According to the report collected by a daily newspaper, the diversion of UIT officers, engineers and contractors towards road network development led to lack of concern over other important projects. UIT now retaliate saying that due to stoppage on gravel and stone mining, they suffered deficiency. Also, due to electoral conduct and preoccupied officers, work could not be completed.
During this time, 5 major projects that suffered completion are the construction of 2,500 houses under Dakshin Vistar Yojana, 5 community houses, promenade besides Ayad River, over bridge at Pratap Nagar circle, four lane from Pratap Nagar to Balicha and Vibhuti Park opposite Fateh Sagar.
