Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Udaipur is preparing to strengthen road networks across city. The project includes 20 major roads around city estimated cost of which would be Rs 250 crores. A deadline of 90 days is provided by District Collector to complete this project.

Ashutosh A.T. Pednekar, District Collector, Udaipur, informed that decision was taken in a meeting held at UIT. In the meeting all the officials and engineers were included. Motto behind the project is to build up better road network, removing various bottle necks and implementing road widening process.

Pednekar further added that officials have identified 20 such routes which are under traffic pressure. The inappropriate width of road is because of encroachments along with bottle neck situations. Officials are in talk with respective parties in case of land acquisition, while working out for proper action plan for remaining roads.

These various routes include Pula Bottle Neck, Road Widening at Sukher, Badi Lake, REX Studio and Mewar Motors lane issues.

The project would be implemented shortly, in which a contractor will be invited through an e-tendering process. A notice would be given those dwelling in illegal construction by the road side. Same will be demolished after adopting proper procedure.

In the project UIT has also included ring road construction around Udaisagar Lake, along with beautification work throughout the proposed ring road. UIT has received various suggestions in which developing gardens and additional tourist spots are included. Beautification works are kept apart from deadline.
