Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) has decided to vacate their abandoned commercial property at Shakti Nagar after 20 years. The office space was used to preserve old records of UMC and has been closed since 1998.

Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) has decided to vacate their abandoned commercial property at Shakti Nagar after 20 years. The office space was used to preserve old records of UMC and has been closed since 1998. The Revenue Department of Corporation has shifted their old records to Umrada, while the property would be rented for commercial use.

According to Durgesh Sharma, President, Revenue Committee, UMC, the property is located at Shakti Nagar and was abandoned while Kiran Jain had been the chairman of the Municipal Council. The site is on 1st floor opposite MotiVatika in Shakti Nagar, which is containing nearly 4 decades old records.

Sharma added that the old records will be preserved in Umrada, as it also contains documents of few cases which are still pending in court.

The commercial space, approximately 1800 sq feet in area, can accommodate any business, and is especially suitable for banks. The property would be renovated at the cost of the Corporation and would be rented out after following the due formalities and the bidding process.
