Udaipur Municipal Corporation pulled up PHED demanding report on water piping work across various wards. Corporation had transferred budgeted funds of Rs.2.74 Crores almost 3 years back to PHED, while work worth Rs.99 Lacks has been completed on account of PHED.

According to Rajni Dangi, Mayor, UMC, PHED was transferred funds for connecting various wards of municipal areas with government water lines. Against the transferred funds of Rs 2.74 Cr, PHED presented job certification of work worth Rs.99 lack.

Mayor added that BRGF (Backward Region Grant Fund) for installing an over head water tank had also been advanced under which PHED department has finished work worth Rs.1.80 Crores.

Mayor also informed that officials of UMC have not received any response from PHED despite repeated telephonic queries.

Under the prevailing circumstances residents of left out localities have to face drinking water problem.
