Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) is planning to encourage setting up of 24 hours food shops in city. The amendment came into force soon after Council’s upgrading to Corporation. However, so far, no application has been received for the same.

According to Himmat Singh Barath, Commissioner, UMC, permission can be granted if the interested applicants satisfy all the pre-conditions that include hygienic preparation, proper sitting arrangements and cleanliness amongst other conditions.

Commissioner added that for those applying for permission, a temporary license with a validity of one year would be granted. However, one may also have to acquire NOC (No Objection Certificate) from both Police Department and District Collector.

Himmat Singh further added that these 24 hours food shops will not be entitled to serve any products that are alcoholic in nature.
