The Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) is planning to give permits to street vendors. Required policy for availing permit is under process and supervision of Revenue Committee head Durgesh Sharma.

According to Rajni Dangi, Mayor, UMC, “Granting permit to street venders is a big challenge for corporation, as most of them are part of encroachment or affect smooth traffic movement across city.”

Dangi further added, “We had called for a meeting with respective committee, which concluded with a decision of providing permit on fulfilling few criteria; same would be listed by revenue committee of UMC.”

Durgesh Sharma, President, Revenue Committee, UMC informed, “Apart from street vendors and hawkers, a similar permit will also be provided to Camel and Horse Ride businesses, operating on various tourist and public places including Sukhadia Circle, Saheliyon Ki Badi, Fateh Sagar and Dudh Talai.”
