Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari lifted the veil on the underground parking facility at Town Hall (UMC) premises, at a Rotary event held on April 1, 2017.

Technology being at the forefront of this facility, the vehicle will be charged as per time the vehicle was parked in the facility, the monitoring being done by sensors.

The Revenue division of the Municipality has decided on a charge of Rs 15 per hour for a two wheeler and Rs 30 per hour for a four wheeler.   A full day parking for a four wheeler will coast Rs 100/-.  The facility has a total parking capacity for 450 two wheelers and 150 four wheelers.

Entry to the parking will from the main road, whereas exit will be permitted from the Link road side only.  Police and administration need to ensure clearing of unauthorized vendors on the link road to ensure that a traffic jam situation does not arise.

Minister of State for Home, Gulab Chand Kataria and Urban Development Minister Srichand Kripalani inaugurated the facility today evening.
