Vaccination Drive in Udaipur for School Staff on September 4; over 1 Lakh doses to be administered

The Udaipur Health Department under the directions of the DRCHO is organizing a massive vaccination drive on Saturday, September 4, which will also facilitate vaccination for teachers, non-teaching staff, support staff and school bus, van and auto operators.

This drive as per DRCHO, Dr. Ashok Aditya is in line with the ongoing vaccination efforts of the district as well as the recent instructions of the Union Health Ministry, to vaccinate all staff related to schools across India. The drive is being coordinated under instructions from the District Collectors office.

As per information received from the DRCHO, nearly 1 lakh doses will be administered on 1 September 2021 across the district. The DRCHO has also sent a letter to Dr. Lokesh Jain, Coordinator, CBSE Schools of Udaipur to this effect.

Four centers are being dedicated for this specific vaccination drive. These four centers are Rockwood School, Chitrakoot Nagar; St Anthony’s School, Sec 4; Scholar’s Arena, Tekri-Madri Road and Alok School, Sec 11.

The Health Ministry of the Government of India has instructed that all teachers be vaccinated before September 5, which is Teacher’s Day.

Instructions for the same were disseminated to all states by the office of Additional Secy of Health Ministry, Manohar Agnani, which explicitly mentioned that the step was being taken to ensure that all teachers are vaccination against COVID-19.

The Union Minister had announced on 1 September that vaccination doses totaling to more than 20 million will be distributed to the states this month in order to ensure that vaccination of all teachers is done before September 5.

UdaipurTimes, in an earlier post had indicated this necessity as schools across Rajasthan were being opened from September 1. For Rajasthan, this becomes a top priority.

In the letter to states, Agnani mentioned that the priority vaccination for all school teachers will be ensured by providing additional doses under a special campaign for teaching and non-teaching staff of all government and private schools.
