As per the government notification two weeks ago, Vaccination for children under 18 years and above 15 years of age will begin across the country today. At Udaipur, the vaccination for 15 to Under 18 children will be held across 514 centres, which include 490 schools. Both OnSite as well as OffSite registrations are permitted.

COVAXIN will be the only vaccine that will be administered to t the 15-18 age group, which comprises of approximately 2 lakh 15 thousand children. Out of the 514 centres, 479 will be in the Rural areas of the district and the remaining will be Urban area centres. Each of the blocks have been divided into sectors for the purpose of distribution of centres and each sector has at least two government schools as centres. For those children who are not going to school, 6 centres across the district have been specially allocated, which include Audichya Samaj Centre Chhoti Brahmpuri, Sant Nirankaari Bhavan, Chitrakoor Nagar, Atal Sabhagaar, Agro Trade Krishi Mandi, BN College and Town Hall.

CMHO Dr Dinesh Kharadi has said that the procedures for todays vaccinations will be spearheaded under the directions of Udaipur District Collector Chetan Deora. The inaugural session in the presence of Chetan Deora will be held at the Government Girls Senior Secondary Residency School.
