Udaipur Municipal Corporation, in association with Manav Vikas Sansthan organized a Candle March on Fateh Sagar Paal today evening.

The Candle March was a part of the scheduled activities during the Road Saftey Week. Local residents, members of the UMC and Sansthan workers participated in the event that began at 6:30PM from the Devali end of the Paal and culminated at the far end of the Paal.

Motive of the march was to remember and pay homage to the victims of all road accidents. Photos of most victims were arranged by the administration.

Mohd. Yaseen Khan Pathan, ADM City while talking to media said, “The youth should drop the idea of rash driving as it not only threatens their life, but also the life of others.”

He also informed that the administration will initiate a SMS Project, wherein SMSs related to Road Safety will be sent.

“We will also run a campaign in the city, where the drivers will be motivated to wear helmets”, he added.
