The Udaipur Municipal Corporation is facing protests from its own workers in the on-going process of appointing sweeping staff.  The protest facilitated a tools down strike of the workers after they alleged that a Corporator, Kajal Adiwal used foul language on the rejection of 3 applicants for the job.

UMC has appointed 50 applicants to the post of sweeping staff, after proper interviews and checking the required documents, during which applications of 3 candidates were rejected.  The reason given was that experience certificates were missing.

According to the sources, on Monday, 29th July, while interviews were conducted,a total of 53 applicants applied for the job out of which 50 were appointed.  Agitated on the 3 candidates, Kajal Adiwal reached the office of the concerned officer, Dilkush Kavdiya.  Kajal allegedly used foul language and accused the officer of corruption.

Following such misbehaviour from corporator, workers Penned Down for around 4 hours affectingthe scheduled working of the Corporation.  However whenthe matter reached Mayor Rajni Dangi, she neutralized both the sides after which workers resumed to work.

Rajni Dangi said, “I have asked workers to give their complain in written, while a letter was forwarded to State Authorities to consider widow applicants on grounds of experience, as all three rejected applicants were widows.”
