Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (AVVNL) will start giving all household consumers monthly bill starting September. The bills are currently given for every 2 months.

AVVNL will start this arrangement in city for consumers of Power House-1 (PH-1) and Power House-2 (PH-2). First monthly bill will come in October.

This change is coming on back of the orders of Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission to charge residential users every month. AVVNL has started preparation for charging monthly bills for these 2 power sub-divisions.

It may be noted that commercial users are already charged on a monthly basis but residential users are charged on a two-month basis.

PH-1 and PH-2 have around 11,500 and 12,000 residential users attached to them. These 2 divisions have been selected since these two divisions have lesser number of residential users in comparison to other divisions. Secondly, because these sub-divisions cater to old city, it will not be too difficult to take meter readings for all these users.
