Majawad ‘Killer’ Leopard Trapped

Captured animal said to be the one which killed five-year-old girl in Kundaau village

In a major breaking story again from Gogunda district in Udaipur, but this time from Majawad village, a leopard has been trapped near the Kundaau village anicut. This, say sources, is the same leopard that had recently mauled to death the five-year-old Suraj. The animal was caught in the cage set up by the Forest Department at the spot from where the young girl was taken.

Villagers informed Gogunda SDM, Tehsildar and the police station officer about the capture.

There is a sense of relief among the villagers who are thronging the area to catch a glimpse of the ‘killer’ leopard and are making videos. Sarpanch representative Motilal Gameti also reached the spot.

Four cages had been set up in the area following the attack on Suraj. And for the past two days, 38 personnel had also been stationed at the site.

The leopard is now being brought down from the hills and will be taken to Sajjangarh Biological Park in Udaipur.

Readers may recall that on September 24, 2024, two leopards had been caught in Chhali village after three people were killed in separate attacks in the area.
