27th West Zone Inter University Youth Festival Starts Today
Prof. K.C Sodani, Dean, Students Welfare welcomed the gathering and provided the information about the events and activities of 5 day fest. 1500 students from 37 universities of west zone of India that includes the states of Rajasthan, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh are taking part in the carnival. 24 competitions related to visual arts, theatre, music, literature, dance etc. will be conducted at the selected spots during the fest.
27th West Zone Inter University Youth Festival was inaugurated today on 5th December at MLSU Auditorium on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU), Udaipur.
The function started with the cordial welcome of the Chief Guest, C.P Joshi (Central Minister for Road Transport and Highways), Special Guest, Ajay Maken (Central State Minister of Youth) and other distinguished guests including Dr. Vajpayee, Dr. Chaturvedi, Raguveer Singh Meena, Sajjan Kataria, Amit Doshi and Mangilal Garasia.

Vice-chancellor of MLSU, Dr. I.V Trivedi welcomed all the participants and guests and said “All the participants should enjoy the fest to their fullest and must compete in all the events with a good spirit. We have tried our best to provide all the facilities and hope you will enjoy your stay at Udaipur.”
On this occasion Dr. Trivedi requested Ajay Maken to grant MLSU a fund to open up its own sports academy as there is immense youth potential in Udaipur.
Dr. Joshi congratulated MLSU on successfully completing the journey of 50 years and for hosting 27th West Zone Inter University Youth Festival and said, “For the development of a nation it is important that youth of nation should be innovative and talented. Youth festival gives a platform to our youth to showcase their talent and learn from others too. I wish you all my best wishes for the fest.”
Ajay Maken while addressing the assembly said, “If India is still intact regardless of such a diverse culture it is because of its youth strength. All the participants will enjoy the festival and carry the sweet memory of the next 5 days with them for life time. “
Regarding the fund for multiple sports complex Ajay has asked to give a proposal under Urban Infrastructure Sports and assured the authorities that it will be sanctioned soon.
