UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain led the efforts to resolve issues with landowners thus facilitating the opening up of the much-delayed missing Link Road
Udaipur, March 6, 2025 - Commuters coming from Jhadol towards Subhash Chauraha will now no longer need to go via Rampura Chauraha. They can now directly reach Subhash Chauraha. Additionally, traffic from Doodh Talai through Sita Mata will also be able to go directly to Subhash Chauraha. This is because the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) has opened up the missing link road connecting the proposed Pichola Lake Ring Road to Haridas Ji Ki Magri.
This work was made possible through the efforts of both the previous and current UDA commissioners and officials. UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain and Tehsildar Dr Abhinav Sharma oversaw the construction of the missing link road from Revenue Village of Udaipur, covering plot numbers 93 to 96 and approximately 200 meters. Consent for land takeover was obtained from landholders Ghafoor Mohammad, Rajkumari Sindhal and the heirs of Noor Mohammad, following several rounds of discussions.
This matter had been pending in the High Court of Jodhpur since 2014, but it has now been resolved with the consent of the landholders. Previously, former UIT (Urban Improvement Trust) Secretary Ramnivas Mehta had also made several attempts to open up the link road, but agreement could not be reached between the landholders and the UIT at that time. This time, success was met with Commissioner Rahul Jain taking a leading role in resolving the issue.
Work on clearing up the area to built the link road began with much gusto. Five JCBs, two hydraulic machines, five tractors, and 25 labourers were at it diligently from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
During the operation, Executive Engineer Nirmal Suthar, Assistant Engineer Rahul Chanderia, Land Record Inspector Babulal Tawar, Patwari Surpal Singh Solanki, Lalit Patel and Home Guard personnel were also present.
