Considering that the future will revolve around people with superior computer skills, the college organized many competitions based on IT like Debugging, Hacking, Gaming Zone, etc. The students, especially those from technical backgrounds were super excited as we have a dearth of such technical competitions in colleges. The participants will be the future managers as judges commented on their refined IT skills.
The college did not shy away from organizing some cultural and literary events as well. We saw students arguing vehemently on Why Facebook should be banned in English and in Hindi; they made their views on youth losing itself in the rat race of career planning.
There was Pot Making and Rangoli for those fond of colours. Solo and Group Dance as well as song competitions to bring out the latent talents of students was also held. The students flaunted their skills with panache and aplomb unknown to some.
A new competition “Story By Photography” was added this time for the newly developing breed of DSLR lovers. The students were seen posing by themselves or cooperating with friends for joining it. They did not hesitate to involve any resource they could get their hands on.
The cash prizes for the event are a whopping Rs. 100,000/- and the participants displayed their best to take home the booty!
Apart from all the competitions, stalls of games and street food were also set up by the students of Advent. In the spare time students and college staff enjoyed the food. Towards the end was the most awaited Rock Show and DJ party for which the students had been waiting for. All the hard work finally paid off with lots of foot tapping and swooning with the crowd.
