Bapu’s Granddaughter Ela Gandhi to visit Udaipur at an Event
In the 16th Ummed Mal Lodha Environment Award function organized by Sewa Mandir and Ummed Mal Lodha Memorial Trust, Gandhiji’s granddaughter Ila Gandhi will be the chief speaker.
In the 16th Ummed Mal Lodha Environment Award function organized by Sewa Mandir and Ummed Mal Lodha Memorial Trust, Gandhiji’s granddaughter Ela Gandhi will be the chief speaker.
The event on 12th February will be organized at Sewa Mandir, Devali. Born in South Africa, Ela Gandhi completed her BA and joined social services thereafter. She fought against the racial discrimination in Africa for which she was kept under house arrest for a while.
Ila has also been a member of Africa’s parliament from 1994 to 2004. Ela Gandhi was a recipient of Padma Bhushan in 2007 and was conferred with Overseas Indian Award in 2014.
