Bhuwana-Pratap Nagar 4-Lane Road Complete, Inauguration Soon
Udaipur, Sept 11, 2025 - A 5.5-km stretch of the 17-km road of the Bhuwana to Balicha bypass, - up to Pratap Nagar - has now being converted into a four-lane road. In fact, the road width on this stretch is equivalent to a six-lane highway. The work on dividers, decorative poles, and light testing is already complete. Currently, plantation work is ongoing.
Once the minor jobs are complete, the Urban Development Authority (UDA) will officially hold the inauguration of this project.
This project was announced in the 2021-22 CM budget and has been completed at a total cost of Rs 38.36 crore. Two overbridges have been built on this stretch. One bridge is at the RTO intersection, and the other is near Hotel OYO on the road. Service roads have been constructed on both sides.
The 11.5-km road work beyond Pratap Nagar towards Balicha is still under progress. Two underpasses have been constructed on the completed stretch between Bhuwana and Pratap Nagar. These are located on the routes leading towards Chitrakoot Nagar and Khelgaon, allowing vehicles to pass through without stopping.
This project was announced in the 2022-23 CM budget at an estimated cost of Rs 84 crore. The existing three-lane road is being expanded to four lanes. The road width is 11 to 14 metres, with an additional 3 metres being added on both sides.
No work will be done on the railway bridge on this route.
