BN College Fest concludes in Gehlot's presence

Mayuri 2012, the Annual Fest of the BN PG Girls College concluded late evening of Sunday, on 29th January.
The concluding day’s event was highlighted by the presence of Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, who arrived to a warm reception by the Management of the BN Sansthan, at 17:40 hrs.

The concluding day’s event was highlighted by the presence of Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, who arrived to a warm reception by the Management of the BN Sansthan, at 17:40 hrs.

His approximate hour long stay on stage was enough for the audience to get overawed by his presence. In his speech on this occasion, Gehlot praised the empowerment given to the women folk in all walks of life and was highly impressed by the activities, arrangements, performances and achievements by the women of BN PG Girls college.

Remembering the Late Rajiv Gandhi, he emphasized, that it was the vision of Rajiv Gandhi that women folk necessarily need to be given more power of expression and allowed to have a higher presence in different walks of life, which gave light to the 50% reservation for women, which met with a lot of opposition then, but the results are here for all to see. This statement drew a large round of applause from the audience.

He further mentioned in his speech that he was appreciative of the initiative of the BN Sansthan towards women and rural empowerment, where approximately 3,000 girl students were from the rural background. He said that he would keep this in mind towards the BN application for University status, as the government was extremely biased towards rural development.
