Chamber of Commerce and BJP support Bandh on 1 Dec, ask schools to remain close
In Udaipur, the bandh is proposed by Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Khudra Vyapari Sangh and it is backed by Bhartiya Janta Party. According to the sources, in support of all local traders and businessmen BJP has laid their support and has urged everyone to keep their work close to make this bandh successful. The announcement came directly from the BJP Udaipur’s District Head, Dinesh Bhatt.
Various political parties including trade unions have proposed a nationwide strike tomorrow on Thursday, 1 December, 2011 against the Government’s decision to allow 51 per cent Foreign Direct Investment, FDI in retail which will probably affect the traditional kirana and also encourage unemployment.

“Trade Unions are supporting the bandh, we will also urge schools and colleges to remain close, however hospitals will remain open,” Dinesh Bhatt says while quoting to another Hindi local news site.
District Collector, Hemant Ghera has appointed special executives in different areas of the city as per the requirement and has urged the citizens to maintain law and order. He also stated that the already imposed section-144 will be active and anyone breaking the law will have to face action.
Hemant Ghera has requested commoners to keep peace in the proposed bandh and has appealed for not using any forceful shut down of any business and organization.
While Chamber of Commerce and BJP have asked all educational institutions to be closed, the confusion can be seen in the students and parents. Central Public School and Rockwoods have declared to remain close while Maharana Mewar Public School has not officially announced anything but has asked the students to stay at home in case of any difficulty in the transportation.
According to some informal sources St. Anthony School and The Study School have also declared holiday tomorrow, while most of the colleges and schools are not sure and they have left the decision on the situation.
