Brain is the most important part of human body and if it gets a stroke it leads to a catastrophe. So, to raise awareness about Brain Stroke a special assembly was conducted at Delhi Public School, Udaipur on 8 Nov. 2011. Since 29 Oct which is observed as World Stroke Day, was a holiday.

Brain is the most important part of human body and if it gets a stroke it leads to a catastrophe. So, to raise awareness about Brain Stroke a special assembly was conducted at Delhi Public School (DPS), Udaipur on 8 Nov. 2011. Since 29 Oct which is observed as World Stroke Day, was a holiday.

The programme started with prayer and then followed the felicitation of the doctors from GBH American Hospital, by the Principal in-charge Neeru Tandon. The guests included Dr. Dev Kothari, Dr. Pradeep Lodha, Dr. Atulabh Vajpayee, Dr. Vallabh Parikh and Dr. Manish Vaish.

The students put in all their worth to enact on stage what a stroke is through a dance drama. However, some facts about brain were also provided through an interactive and hilarious conversation between the students.

The students dressed themselves as patient, doctor, friends and family members to bring out what is a Stroke and how medical Assistance at proper time could help the patient in recovering.

The scholarly discourse by the key speaker, Dr. Atulabh Vajpayee turned out to be very informative and interactive when students and teachers enthusiastically participated in it by asking various questions.

DPS observed World Stroke Day

Dr. Vajpayee and others appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers. While replying to the queries he said, “A Stroke can occur to anyone at any age, from a new born to an old man anyone get a Stroke.”

He further added, “FAST, i.e. changes in facial expressions, numbness of arm, speech defect and timely medical aid, helps in diagnosing and treating a STROKE.” He also informed the students that it is the second biggest cause of death in the world.

Principal Incharge, Neeru Tandon informed in the assembly about the upcoming Health Week at DPS, Udaipur that aims at arousing health awareness not only among the students but also to the society at large.
