Exhibition of Rare items on WZCC Youth Fest

The exhibition had on display some of the rarest collections, namely a Sliver Coin weighing 1kg, an ancient coin collection with coins having distinctive impressions on them, articles made out of unusual gem stones, a stamp collection of several international railways, special paper money, the first paper note , photographs that would be rarely seen, series of notes as per birthdates, etc.

 

The Golden Jubilee year of Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) is indeed turning out to be a great success, with the National Youth Festival, Water Sports, the announcement of the new curriculum pattern and the ongoing West Zone Inter University festival.  The University has endeavored to fulfil a lot of achievements this year.

Today, an exhibition depicting rare articles had been organized as a part of the West Zone Inter-University festival.

The exhibition had on display some of the rarest collections, namely a  Sliver Coin weighing 1kg, an ancient coin collection with coins having distinctive impressions on them, articles made out of unusual gem stones, a stamp collection of several international railways, special paper money, the first paper note , photographs that would be rarely seen, series of notes as per birthdates, etc.

This exhibition was held by Heritage Pointe Pvt.Ltd based in Ahmedabad.  Amit Doshi is the founder of Heritage Pointe, which deals in antiques and rare articles, and exhibits them through promotions, exhibitions and auctioning worldwide.

In a press conference held today at FMS (Faculty of Management Studies), Amit Doshi said while addressing the media that this participation has re-ignited  his interest in starting a museum in the University campus and also start an academic course related to the studies of fine arts.  He said, “We have given many franchises outside India but none are in the country.  We chose MLSU because the certificate from this university is acknowledged globally and it will be also beneficial for to learn and be educated about these rare historical things.”

The exhibition which has started yesterday will continue till 9th December.

In continuation of the press conference, another interesting activity, which took place today was the proposal of starting the Center of Excellence by MLSU and Shri Ramanujan Trust, Chennai.  The plan which could be a joint effort of both the institutions is earmarked to start next year.

On his earlier visit to the university, Dr. SARPV Chaturvedi Swamy, the Managing Trustee of Shri Ramanujan Trust had said “Ethical grounding is seen diminishing in the present youth. There is a need to create awareness among the youth so that they can understand and carry forward these values.”

Professor Karunesh Saxena of MLSU informed, “Center of Excellence will cover some of the topics suggested by Dr. Chaturvedi like spiritual intelligence, business intelligence, mnemonics engineering, cultural heritage and scientific temper development. Sessions will be taken by Dr. Chaturvedi and the trust members. ”

IV Trivedi, Vice Chancellor of MLSU said, “MLSU is fortunate to have proposals from such great dignitaries. These collaborations will be beneficial for students and will definitely raise the standard of our university. “
