Fish aquarium entry fees disappoints everyone

Recently inaugurated Fish aquarium is attracting everyone but the entry fee is too much to bear. As a result people are returning disappointed.

Fish aquarium “Under the Sun” is a beautiful piece of attraction for tourist and general public. But the disappointing factor is that the entry fee is not at all acceptable. Priced at Rs.118 which includes taxes, the entry fee is much beyond what is charged at Mumbai and Gujarat. For a family, paying such an amount is proving to be extremely expensive. Though the aquarium is very eye catching, yet the fees for a visit is heavy on the pocket. The charges are almost double than what Mumbai and Gujarat aquarium are taking.

A picture gallery was created alongside Fatehsagar Lake with a budget of 1.25 crores. Later this year, UIT had the fish aquarium work done from the UIT fund. The heavy ticket pricing for entry in the aquarium area is not acceptable to the public. Initially public had opposed the aquarium. It was pointed out that the entry fee is beyond imagination.

People even informed that entry fee at the Taraporwala fish aquarium in Mumbai is priced at 60 rupees and it is much better than the aquarium in Udaipur. The fish aquarium fee in Udaipur must not be priced more than 30 rupees since this is the tourist season and each tourist would like to visit the aquarium. With the point of view of promoting tourism, entry fee must be reasonable.

It is not possible for a normal family to pay such heavy charges for visiting the aquarium. With such a heavy fees, the aquarium is likely to lose visitors which can result in a bad image of Udaipur as a tourist destination.

UIT Chairman Ravindra Shrimali said that the entry fees will be discussed with the contractors and cut down for the benefit of public. Even the fish aquarium at Surat in Gujarat charges 50 rupees only as entry fees.
