Food vendors Protest against administrationThe Thela Vyavsayi Ekta Union (Associated to C.I.T.U.), Udaipur, took out a mass rally against the alleged misdemeanors and atrocities committed against the food cart vendors at various locations of Udaipur.

As per Heera Lal Salvi, the Secretary of the Union, members of the municipality have written a petition to the Chairperson of the Municipal Commission of Udaipur to give a fair deal to the condition of the food cart vendors.

Heera Lal says that the on-going issues of tumbling the food carts, throwing away the weighing machines, abusing of these road side vendors has become a normal and regular activity by members of the administration.

He says that in the absence of other means of living, thousands of such persons are using food carts, road side stalls and foot paths to make and earn a living so as to sustain their families, rather than resort to illegal and illicit means of earning money.

Hence, rather than give a humanitarian consideration to their problems and situation, the administration behaves otherwise.

Many of the food cart operators have applied for licenses and still, the licenses have not been issued, forcing many of them to still operate their food carts to earn their living.

Taking into consideration the above points the Union has given a memorandum to the Municipal Commissioner to address their grievances.
