Fresher's Day Celebrated at College of Fisheries

To commence the new academic year, new students were welcomed by way of a Fresher’s Day at the College of Fisheries (MPUAT) on Saturday 25th August. A series of cultural programs were presented by both senior and new students and Mr and Miss Fresher’s were selected according to best performances.

To commence the new academic year, new students were welcomed by way of a Fresher’s Day at the College of Fisheries (MPUAT) on Saturday 25th August. A series of cultural programs were presented by both senior and new students and Mr and Miss Fresher’s were selected according to best performances.

Santosh and Kanhaiyalal of BFSC first year and Khushbu Rani and Khemraj of BFSC second year were chosen Miss and Mr Fresher. Nakul Bhatt of MFSC first year was selected as Mr. Fresher.

Both senior and new students presented solo and group dances, solo and group songs, mono acting, cultural dress competition and quiz competitions were held.

Chief Guest of the program, Dr. Virendra Nepalia, Dean Student Welfare welcomed the new batch of students and presented his best wishes to them.

Special guest of the program, Professor V.S. Dave said in his speech that his dream of Fisheries College in the state is getting fulfilled; he said that MPUAT’s College of Fisheries was the first Fishery College in North India at the time of its foundation.

Dean of the College, Dr. Vimal Sharma welcomed all guests and students and informed them about the curriculum. He said that this is the fourth batch of BFSC after 2003, which was the foundation year of the college. 100 percent job placements were recorded in the last batch of MFSC graduates.

He said that new laboratories and classes are under construction and latest devices will be equipped through financial assistance provided by the state government.
