Indian Air Force motorcycle expedition reaches Udaipur

A 10 member officer team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) arrived in Udaipuron Tuesday, 28th February from Chittorgarh on their motor bike tour of Rajasthan, covering 2,500 km of journey named Tour-de-Rajasthan. The group is led by Wing Commander Anupam Khaturia; going around few major cities of Rajasthan within 8 days of time. Out of 10 members in the group, 6 officers including 2 lady officers and 4 Air Men are riding on Royal Enfield, Bajaj Pulsar and Avenger motorcycles.

A 10 member officer team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) arrived in Udaipuron Tuesday, 28th February from Chittorgarh on their motor bike tour of Rajasthan, covering 2,500 km of journey named Tour-de-Rajasthan.

The group is led by Wing Commander Anupam Khaturia; going around few major cities of Rajasthan within 8 days of time.  Out of 10 members in the group, 6 officers including 2 lady officers and 4 Air Men are riding on Royal Enfield, Bajaj Pulsar and Avenger motorcycles.  

Wing Commander Anupam Khaturia informed UT, “The primary motive behind the trip is to promote adventure tourism among the Indian Air Force personnel and to create an awareness of Indian Air Force amid the general masses.  So while we are on the road, we are stopping by at random schools to impart information about IAF.  Schools in the village areas are our focus.”

They started from Jodhpuron 25th February and reached Udaipur yesterday, covering Phalodi, Nasirabad, Kota and Chittorgarh on the way, thereby completing half of their journey.  They will leave Udaipur on 1st March and proceed to Mount Abu, Barmer and Jaisalmer on their way back to Jodhpur on 5th of February.

“We are taking a halt of 1 day here atUdaipuras it’s the mid-point of our journey. Our vehicles are sent for servicing and we are enjoying the sightseeing in the city.  We will resume our trip tomorrow morning”, added Wing Commander Anupam Khaturia.
