International Level Art Exhibition Starts

Artists of National and International repute have come together with the idea of a Mixed Media Art Exhibition in the city to pay their tribute to the Nobel laureate, poet, writer, musician and philosopher of India, Sir Rabindranath Tagore. The 8-day Art Exhibition commenced yesterday at Sculpture Korte in Ambamata, Udaipur and is on display from 6-9pm every day.

The 8-day Art Exhibition commenced yesterday at Sculpture Korte in Ambamata, Udaipur and is on display from 6-9pm every day.

The inspiration behind this mixed media art exhibition is ‘Sindhupare’ (Beside the Sea) a very famous poem written by Tagore in 1896.

International Level Art Exhibition Starts

The exhibition displays the work of the artists through the medium of Theaters, Paintings, Photographs, Music Shows, and Installation Videos and Sculptures, all depicting the connotation of the poem Sindhupare to the extent of their own understanding.

The participants using video installations as their medium are Thomas Agergaard and Emilie Lundstroem from Denmark and Atul Bhalla, Shahid Parvez and Chiman Dangi from Udaipur.

Chiman Dangi, said “It is a big thing for Udaipur that such an international level exhibition is being held here. The exhibition has a unique concept and is a first of its kind to be organized in Rajasthan.”

Photographer exhibiting his efforts is Reg Fallah from Sweden and the sculptor and the painter in the exhibition are Sandeep Paliwal and Kamal Sharma from India, “It is a beautiful poem, full of emotions like happiness, anger, dreams, heartbroken etc. We all are trying to show these emotions within our forte.”

Neil Maroni and Daniel from England are presenting their understanding of the poem with the help of their music instruments.

Andrew Horsfall and Jarka Heller from England and Paul Matthew from France are putting up a performance to display their thoughts for Sindhupare. Anne Vilsboell from Denmark has kept her painting in the exhibition.

Several school students from in and around Udaipur and several Indian musician and art projects have also given their contribution to the show.

International Level Art Exhibition Starts

Dev & Lovnism of Footprint – Cinematic, Udaipur will prepare a documentary of the entire event.

The project is directed by Jarka Helle (from England) and Anne Visboll (from Denmark) with the help from Out of the Cocoon theater company and the Indian Cultural Ministry in the form of the Tagore commemoration grant scheme.
