Wild Life division of Department of Forest, Udaipur is conducting an adventure trip at Jakham Dam, a huge water body surrounded by lush green hillsides, in  Sitamata Sanctuary (about 130 Km from Chittorgarh as well as from Udaipur) from 25th to 27th March, 2013.

The place is extremely beautiful, peaceful and away from all the hustle-bustle of the city. Adventurers will stay in roof top tents over the Jakham guest house of Forest Department (preferably carry own tents and sleeping bags, otherwise they will be provided on an extra cost on advance intimation).

Schedule:

25th March: Arrive at the site between 6-9 pm. (Alternately, arrive by early morning on 26th before 7 or 8 am.

26th March: Trekking, hiking and mountaineering. Stay in night, sharing experience, food, music and culture

27th March: Trekking, hiking and mountaineering. Stay in night, sharing experience, food, music and culture

28th March: Departure early morning 5am

Note: This is the period of Holi festival, therefore travelling during the day must be avoided, so as to not get trapped in local tribal culture (if you get trapped donate some money to entertain them and enjoy)

Who can join?

Participant has to be fit and healthy without any serious illnesses such as high/low BP, sugar, obesity, collesterol problems, etc.

Medical fitness will be essential. It is a serious trekking and adventure activity. Do not take it lightly if you are not fit.

Children below 10 years are not allowed. But below 18 years can be accompanied by their parents on their complete responsibility.

Registration form with indemnity will have to be filled in advance. This will be provided via mail on request after confirmation.

Attractions:

Full moon night, excellent water views over the dam. (Remember all the romantic moon songs, be ready to sing and enjoy)

Excellent trekking and adventure activities.

Note:- Mountaineering equipments will be carried by well trained and experienced experts.

Contribution:

Rs. 500 per day per person for paying to local helpers and community members and charges for staying and food etc. Please carry some ready to eat food items also.

Transport: arrange ur own or pool with other people. Or contact us, if we can help. At least reserve ur trains in case u need to come by train from outside.

How to reach:

From Delhi: By evening train to Chittorgarh arrive early morning at about 4 am Then travel in arranged transport (inform us in advance)

From Jaipur: By evening train to Chittorgarh arrive early morning at about 4 am Then travel in arranged transport (inform us in advance)

From Udaipur: In arranged transport (pooled) or own transport in the evening of 25th March

From Ahmedabad: In arranged transport (pooled) or own transport on 25th March

What to carry:

Haversack, drinking water, camera, binoculars, walking/hiking shoes and all other personal essentials.

Carry own sleeping bag, bed sheets, floor mats, blanket etc.

Bring along food, snacks, packed juices, fruits, ready to eat specialities including laddus to share or anything else. (lunch, dinner, tea etc. will be arranged but do not expect a high quality food)

Bring your jokes, poem and song diary and your flute, mouth organ or any other music instruments.

Note:- If you need to be provided with sleeping beds, bedsheets, covers etc you will have to inform in advance and will have to pay Rs. 200 per day extra transportation charges.

Expectations:

Adventurers should be ready to adjust in all possible circumstances and should be ready to mix with company and share work and responsibilities. People expecting any luxuries and comforts should definitely drop the idea of joining this trip.

Only fun loving daring and adventurous people are expected to join.

Leave all your complaints at home and be ready to enjoy colorful holi in whatever you get in the middle of a heavenly place.
