Its Christmas Eve! Children celebrate as schools close for 2011
On the eve of Christmas, like the last couple of days, celebrations have gathered tempo as tonight is the night of Christmas, before we get together for Mass tomorrow and the children receive their yearly dues in the form of gifts from Santa.

We give a round-up of activities that have taken place in three schools of Udaipur, Central Public, Rockwoods High and Seedling.
CENTRAL PUBLIC SCHOOL, BHUPALPURA
Students of Central Public School, BhUpalpura celebrated Christmas Eve, dancing on various English and Hindi carols, and were treated to sumptuous cakes and chocolates.
Father Paul Thomas, the chief guest for the function was thrilled to see a number of kids dressed as Santa clause and performing on stage.
Alka Sharma the principal of CPS, wished all the children and teachers on the occasion and George Kutti, a teacher from the school read verses from the Bible and asked children to follow the path taught by Jesus.
ROCKWOODS HIGH SCHOOL Rockwoods High School celebrated its first X’Mas amidst a lot of joy, with all students being well prepared to perform on this occasion.The school was attractively decorated to accord due prominence to the occasion – X’Mas trees and children dressed as Santa Claus all around the campus.
Chief Guest of the function George Kutty, Chairperson of Rockwoods, .Alka Sharma and Principal, Geeta Nair along with Vikram Singh were the dignitaries who blessed the children.
Students presented some very good group dance sequences and the cherry on the cake was an astounding performance by pre-primary students, who gave their dance performance to a thunderous applause by the audience.
SEEDLING MODERN PUBLIC SCHOOL
The faculty and administration of Seedling Modern Public School were treated to a plethora of events that were lined up for the day.
Starting with the Fancy Dress competition, the event unfolded to a Fashion Show and the day ended with Santa distributing gifts and chocolates to the children, young and old.
In an interview with UT, Ms. Monita Bakhshi, the Director of Seedling, emphasized on overall development of the students and said that the school ensured that each student is given a chance OR is rather motivated, to participate in the extra-curricular activities held round the year.
She further said that such regular events that take place are a part of the schools calendar of activities and the various occasions and festivals all around the year allow them to plan thematic extra-curricular activities around them, thereby giving pleasure coupled with learning to the students.
