Kite Festival at 4 Tourist Spots in Udaipur on Jan 14
Kite flying events will be held at Fateh Sagar, Gangaur Ghat, Moti Magri and Sajjangarh on Makar Sankranti; public participation encouraged
Udaipur, January 14, 2026 - On the instructions of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, kite festivals are being organised across the State on the occasion of Makar Sankranti at divisional headquarters and major tourist destinations.
In the same sequence, a divisional-level kite festival will be organised at the Udaipur Divisional Headquarters. Under the guidance of District Collector Namit Mehta, Additional District Collector (City) Jitendra Ojha held a meeting of officials and issued directions to ensure the successful organisation of the event and maximum public participation.
Shikha Saxena, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, informed that from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm kite-flying events will be organised at four major tourist locations in the city. These include Fateh Sagar embankment, Gangaur Ghat, Moti Magri and Sajjangarh Fort.
Nodal officers have been appointed at each location to ensure availability of kites, drinking water arrangements, distribution of til (sesame) laddoos among the public and other general facilities.
The district administration has appealed to the public to participate in large numbers and follow safety guidelines.
