Landmarks of Udaipur to switch off lights to mark EARTH HOUR

On March 28th 2015, Udaipur will come forward between 8.30 PM to 9.30 PM to celebrate Earth Hour as landmark buildings and iconic monuments, individuals, organizations and governments across the globe will switch off their lights to raise voice against climate change.

On March 28th 2015, Udaipur will come forward between 8.30 PM to 9.30 PM to celebrate Earth Hour as landmark buildings and iconic monuments, individuals, organizations and governments across the globe will switch off their lights to raise voice against climate change.

The Earth Hour that commenced in India in 2009 has inspired individuals, governments and corporation to move towards responsible consumption and conservation of energy. It has received participation in over 150 cities.

In support, Hotel Sheraton, Hotel Ramada, Taj Lake Palace, Celebration Mall and several other buildings along with offices will switch off their lights during the hour.

WWF-Udaipur’s office in charge Arun Soni has informed that celebrities such as Arjun Kapoor and Sania Mirza have joined the campaign called ‘India Unplugged.’ The posters of the event were inaugurated by Maharana Mewar Foundation’s Managing Trustee and President Arvind Singh Mewar in Udaipur as well.

On 28th March, school children will carry out awareness rally in the city and events will be organized at Fateh Sagar in the evening from 7 PM onward.
