Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole; it flows from heaven to the soul.

Keeping the above quote in mind a Music Camp has been started from September this year at Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Parishad, a well known name in promoting Art, Culture and Music to raise new talents. Here one can learn Guitar, Synthesizer, Harmonium and Tabla by expert musicians who dedicated their life in mastering the art.

The Guitar classes are taken by Anil Rodgers whereas the Synthesizer, Harmonium and Tabla Classes are taken by Deepak Verma.

“We are targeting on basics of music with theory as well as practical” says Anil who has more than 10 years experience being a guitarist. “To clear the fundamentals of music and instrument playing, we put special emphasis on minute details like Scales, Chords, Leading, Plucking the guitar by playing both the Hindi and the English songs”, said Anil.

Deepak Verma, a musician with 25 years of experience in Indian musical instrument said, “We train our students to play Indian Classical Music on Tabla and Harmonium so that even if students want to go for higher training in the same field, their basics should be all clear.”

There are about 20-25 students who have already enrolled for the camp and many are still in process of joining.

The training sessions are conducted every day, the guitar learning session starts from 5:30pm and the other session starts from 5:00 pm onwards.

Anil said, “Music helps to give external and internal relief to the students who have hectic schedule of studies. Many of our students has performed in the college fresher’s party and other college events which certainly give them confidence.”

There is no age limit to join the camp, the monthly fee is Rs.700/- for learning any musical instrument.
